Preparing Young Minds In Line With The Future!

Ms. Devyani Mungali
FOUNDER, Sanskriti School, Pune

A Note from Our Founder

Ms. Devyani Mungali

Most children joining school now are likely to enter the work environment in 2040 or later. The rapidly changing work atmosphere and lifestyles have made the traditional models of school education redundant. The Sanskriti Group of Schools was started with the vision of providing a personalised and holistic educational experience.

Instead of just focusing on imparting information, Sanskriti School moulds young students to help them grow into confident human beings that leave their mark on the world. We believe that taking initiative, developing emotional and interpersonal skills, and having the ability to reason and question are much more important qualities than bookish knowledge.

A Founder Who Leads with Heart!

Ms. Devyani Mungali, the visionary behind Sanskriti School, comes from a spiritually enriched lineage rooted in creativity and learning. Her great-grandfather was the founder of Banaras Hindu University and a renowned Sanskrit scholar—an influence that continues to guide her educational philosophy. A Gold Medalist and University Topper in English Literature (BA and MA), Ms. Mungali is not only a passionate educator but also a published author, poet, and storyteller dedicated to nurturing creativity in children.

Under the literary brand Anokha Pitara, she has authored five Hindi poetry collections and four illustrated storybooks in English for children, with more in the pipeline. Her Hindi poetry series features light, relatable poems on everyday themes, while her English books follow the adventures of “Albeli and Raghu” in the lush backdrop of India’s forests, inspiring a love for nature and friendship. Her recent bilingual release “Shh! Sariyaan Bhi Bolti Hai!” celebrates India’s cultural heritage through the lens of sarees, and her latest title “Supertalents of Grandparents” is a humorous tribute to the wisdom and warmth of elder family members.

A trained Bharatanatyam dancer and student of Rabindra Sangeet, Ms. Mungali is also skilled in Tanjore and Warli art. She regularly conducts storytelling and creative writing workshops, firmly believing that imagination is the foundation for future innovation. Her work is deeply inspired by empathy, compassion, and rooted Indian values—principles she believes are central to shaping strong, happy children and, by extension, a strong nation.

Her educational initiatives have received national acclaim, with multiple awards including:

  • Avantika Samman (twice) for Innovative Teaching Methodologies
  • Times Education Icon Award – 2022
  • International School Award from the British Council (twice)
  • Prof. Indira Parikh 50 Women in Education Leaders Award
  • Innovation in Technology Award
  • Indian Education Excellence Award during the 75th Amrit Mahotsav

Her vision has also been acknowledged by great minds like the Late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and His Holiness the Dalai Lama, further validating her belief in education as a tool for transformation.

At Sanskriti School, Ms. Mungali continues to lead with compassion and foresight, ensuring that education goes beyond textbooks—igniting curiosity, fostering creativity, and building character in every child.
